  • Where's 12S GRX Di2!

They’re not making it, apparently feedback from the “pro” gravel rider is that they don’t want it (according to Shimano’s rep).

It’s stupid, especially when it’s either mechanical, or go AXS.

  • Find this very hard to believe. A large proportion of the US pro gravel riders are on AXS.

  • I know, but that what Shimano think, they didn’t sell as many GRX Di2, I argued that they really should improve upon it it as it was literally the first generation, of course it not gone go brilliantly.

AXS are brilliant, especially the Eagle derailleur being quite robust.

  • It's exactly this. GRX Di2 is very rare in the sea of AXS gravel bikes. A shame really, worked pretty well but 1X options were a bit limited and that's what everyone wants

  • that is very disappointing

  • I’d put money on 12s grx di2 coming out in time for 2024 Lifetime Grand Prix.

And then I’ll spend my winnings on said group.

  • It has to actually be a standard. Road boost is on how many bikes?

  • that's what everyone wants

    Not I, said the fly.

If you could believe companies (you can't) I would stick to 11s GRX quite happily. But I don't want to equip a bunch of bikes with 11s only to find out 12s comes out and all my spare parts become rare. That shit can get in the bin.

  • I don't think you'd get very long odds on that bet. Found a website already listing a MY24 Orbea gravel bike with Di2 RX825 2x12s...

  • It's coming later

    Edit: tldr

  • If I want something that's going to spend it's time on fire tracks and grassy hills is there any reason that I would not just buy an Open WI.DE for a smidge over £2k? It appears to be the spec currently being sold for £6400 direct from Open.
Obviously needs a few spec tweaks, but for a few swapped components it appears compelling?

  • is there any reason that I would not just buy

Zero scoblebricks is a bit of a worry

  • Guessing that’s an XL but the head tubes really seem to ramp up on the sizes above M.

Buy tho, not sure there’s a better gravel bike about for £2k?

  • Looks the same and will do the same as Cannondale Topstone but twice the price ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • I bought a new size L frameset direct about 3 years back. I nearly cried when I saw the quality of the finish when I unboxed it considering it was £2700. It still rode superbly though and at that price, it's a no brainer I'd say.
*ignore the bar angle, I'd just fitted that new Easton stem and was playing with the steerer height.

  • If you're taller than the seller, do it.

  • Thought I was in the anti porn thread for a second

  • 80% less ugly than a Topstone though.

  • I nearly cried when I saw the quality of the finish

What specifically? I was looking at one of these recently but tapped out because it was covered in road groupset when I want GRX.

  • Nothing new tyres, new saddle, new seatpost, new stem and bars, new paintjob and a new bike won't fix though.

  • Zero scoblebricks is a bit of a worry

    Guessing that’s an XL

If you're taller than the seller, do it.

One is a certified XL bike rider.

Thought I was in the anti porn thread for a second

Fear not, the pretty wand will be waved.

  • Nothing new tyres, new saddle, new seatpost, new stem and bars, new paintjob and a new bike money won't fix though.

    FTFY

  • The flatting of the seatstay to seatpost clamp area pre paintjob from memory was the worse, paint finsh was very average, a very underwhelming frame visually. A proper whippet to ride though, but absolutely not worth the money, I would have returned it if I could (long story).

  • paint finsh was very average

To be fair, my S-Works SL7 paint has a host of finger prints under the clear coat.
Which coincidently is for serious sale now. Anybody want a lovely road warrior for £4k? :)

  • Money fucks and fixes everything.
