  • Looks square taper but I’m not familiar with the pictured FSA crankset assembly.

  • Concur, that bottom cluster looks threaded.

If thats a good price snap it up @MementoMori

  • He’s asking 400 euro, but the groupset is perfect already and wouldn’t need replacing. Just want to upgrade wheels, seatpost and cockpit basically.

  • He’s sending across some pictures of the BB area so that should clarify.

  • That's a threaded BB shell.

  • too old to be bb30, I think

There are some BB30 CAAD7s, but this isn't one of them.

  • And 400 euros seems like a great price. Let us know if you go for it.

The CAAD5 frame arrived yesterday. The ding in the top tube is smaller than it looks in the pictures. And I have to say overall is in good nick. Will switch parts over from the CAAD8 when it is retired for winter months at end of November

  • Just posted in Tandem thread, not the usual purple ‘dale.

  • Thank you! Finland, Helsinki

  • sweet as fuck this

  • free shipping though

  • I will never understand how someone who is not 100% blind can design something like this and then have the balls and put a price tag on it

    Blows my mind

  • Does anyone know if a 2018 CAADX takes 142mm rear wheel? I cannot find any info

  • QR rear wheel. It’s 135mm.

  • Late to this but I've had the rim brake version of it since 2020 and it's honestly been great. I had a 2017 SuperSix beforehand and when the CAAD is in its summer guise with carbon wheels I've never been able to tell the difference in terms of ride quality.

It takes mudguards very easily, I've got some race blades on it with 25s and there's plenty of room so if you're getting the disc version you'd be able to run 28s with guards no problem.

Only downsides are the paint job/graphics which are shit IMO (I have the matte black one, the gold one was nice) and the BB30a problem. Although, I will say it seems to creak less than my carbon SuperSix did. All in all, I think it's the best alloy bike I've ever owned.

  • Finally, I don't feel that I can improve on this any more. It's done. It's perfect. It's just my opinion.

  • It's perfect

That's cool. Wonder if you can (or ever could, even the black ones must be like hens teeth now) get a yellow boot for the headshok. Guess it would never match the tone of the decals though. Personally I'd lose the yellow zipties and get the plastic jobbies that tighten with a small screw.
