70,000ft is relevant, possibly, in that the upper limit of controlled airspace is 66,000 (or Flight Level 660, I should say). Above that, you can do what you like without reference to ATC.

the wing angle made me think b-1's

They look like B-1Bs to me, and there was a pair inbound to RAF Fairford yesterday. Another pair arrived on the 12th.

Shuttleworth. Definitely a good place to go. Great cafe. Eldest was a fan (of both cafe and tiger moths).

Yeah they have some amazing aircraft. The DH Comet was a beaut. SE5 and other WW1 aircraft also great to see up close. Then there’s all the weird stuff (including the worlds oldest flying aircraft from 1909 I think). Check out the Bristol Boxkite!
