Alright, let's not unnecessarily drag this out.
Something I wanted to utilise was the Shimano Deore 1x10 groupset I had left over from when I upgraded the inbred to 12speed.
Turned out it was quite tricky to find a used, decently priced rim brake qr 26" wheelset that would take wide tyres and a 10speed cassette.
The more I thought about it the more I also loved the idea of a hub dynamo.
This thing is supposed to be practical right?
Needs a hub dynamo!
I was already looking for decently priced bits to get wheels made when I went on a ride with a friend to explore brutalist churches and check his new Black Mountain Cycles Monstercross. He told me about this German online shop specialising in hub dynamo wheels.
That and the fact that the BM IQ-XS was on sale at bike-components and I still had a voucher with them sealed the deal and I ended up buying a new wheelset
