Tumbleweed mini pannier rack.
It's nice. -

And expensive.

Nice build, I like basically everything!
How do you like the levers? Tempted by those brakes, but unsure if my small hands will like them.

Should I shift it to the front of the fork and get a mudflap?
Is it also a matter of safety in case the wheel gets wedged against the mudguard?

They are certainly long. They fit a bit better after going from Venturemax to Truckstops with less silly amounts of reach and some BDHU. I do like them overall

I am going to mount my TRPs to Venturemax bars as well soon. But looking at that photo I think you could have gotten a similar reach on the setup if you had rotated the bars futher down. Truckstops look to be mounted perfectly and are probably better looking with the levers , as both trp hylexs and venturemaxes have a lot going on.
Great looking surly btw

It was indeed probably the lighter and more durable solution with the materials they had in the 30's-70's, the usual way to build bikes was with lugs that were made for horizontal toptubes so to have bars comfortably high with a short quill stem the toptube had to be high.
I think Jan Heine said somewhere that he feels it's better for how the frame flexes.
So yes, mostly aesthetics. And bigger framebags. -

Hylexs and bar end shifters do make sense, more space for handlebar bag when there's no brifters flapping about.

Talking of bar end shifters, anyone tried the Uno yet?

Nice, but you can’t do this with plastic forks. Actually I’m not sure you should with a steel fork either.

That’s what I’m talking about! Nice bike.

This is the kind of stuff I don’t need to see. Nice.

Thanks for the offer but will be too wide for my needs

Do you have any images of the Venturemax and levers from above? Wondering if the bars mean the hoods are rotated inwards and if I should size up a little from my normal bar width.

If we're still doing Epping updates, premium SFAB was had on Sunday.

Who's got a Focus Atlas? Any good?

Road Boost spacing. Next question.
-
• #28669
Wait, wtf is Road Boost? I thought it had Boost spacing, ie. you can just bang any Boost MTB hubs on it?

welcome to gravel cycling

• #28671
Correct. But with a 12mm front axle

Hard pass.
Non-standard standards need to be killed off quick. Focus, you idiots.
-
• #28673
Agreed, should’ve left it at QR 100 front, 135 rear.
-
• #28674
Nah, QR is now an old standard. It was fine but it can now get in the bin.

Nah, non-road boost is now an old standard. It was fine but it can now get in the bin.
You're more likely to hit delicate body parts, makes cycling more exciting?
