  • Wish they’d all just hurry up, tidy up and go.

Amen. Don’t know how they manage to work in all that mess but I try to remember it’s better they build things than spend time tidying. Looks like you’re getting fairly close though, it’s going to be a great result by the look of things!

  • Moving properly back in sunday !
We have garage / workshop/ den potential

  • Congrats!

  • Brilliant, once that outdoor plunge pool fills up it'll be great.. LOL

  • Crazy nice trees you got there!

  • Only until he chops them down and astroturfs the whole garden.

  • Yes, after all the building work all those leaves will definitely be too much!
Or maybe the house was bought because there's nice trees?

  • Thanks all - the roof will one day be planted and many of the bigger trees are on other land. Looking forward to the leaves dropping off so we can see town in the distance. Dust everywhere at the moment.
In 7 months we paid £0 rent, £30o in hotels, no bills and looked after numerous animals.
Picked up loads of poo and worked FT through it. Well worth it though
One day I’ll go for a bike ride !

  • What a milestone, congrats! Keep the updates coming as the plastic/cardboard goes and the fancy bits become more apparent 😉

  • Finally made a cup of tea ☕️

  • awesome stuff. must be awesome to be home again. and with it transformed (if a little dusty - it gets everywhere doesn't it).

  • It’s great to be back in - in the warm and dry! Outside may need a bit of work…

  • Office pod outside? Looks nice! We're thinking of getting a fairly big one before long. Do you mind sharing a few more details on what you've got and rough cost?

  • Looks nice (without the plastic sheet) but that's due to a roof leak/poor construction.
We're going down the legal route with them so would prefer not to share details on the forum (wasn't the builder we used for the house though!)
All i'd say is do a lot of research! :)

  • Aaah yep, fair enough. Sorry man, that sounds like a nightmare.

  • Great project. Needs a fixed gear whip mounted on the wall for aesthetics

  • It's a bit tedious but quite sad that some men are pathetic creatures and hide when challenged (cyptic!)
In other more positive news we've just bought a load of cork boards and the "garden room" is being done tomorrow so will post pictures of that.
Looking at garage doors too currently and trying to get some quotes together!

  • I think during lockdown they style things became a cash cow for folk and people were charging silly money and throwing them up. Then 18 months later all the problems start showing!

Feel like my studio out the back but ive got tarp on it because I haven't had a chance to redo the roof with the rubber yet!

  • I think you’re right.
All I can say @hazzelfrazzel is be very wary of fikapods. Their website has suspiciously just “disappeared “

  • “Fika pods”?? Sweet jesus. Best of luck with the legal battle.

Edit - I’m Swedish so it probably sounds a little bit sillier to me.

  • Bit of cork from today
