Silly question but is it fully downloaded? Some games have the option to start them before the full download is completed but a lot of them that do that pretty much just let you flick around the menus so it’s mostly pointless. If it’s fully downloaded then I’m not sure.

Absolutely. "Charming" feels like an odd word to apply to a Horror-themed fishing game, but it really is. I see they've just released a DLC for it, so I'll have to go brush up my trawler skills. That'll fill some of the time while I'm tapping my fingers, waiting for the PC version of Horizon Forbidden West to drop.

Lonely Mountains: Downhill.

I do not know how many hours I have sunk into this. You have to be the kind of person who enjoys replaying-until-perfect the same 16 second segment though, usually only takes an hour or two to nail it.

I hated that game for the longest time until I tried it on Xbox. I’d been playing it on switch where it’s fucking horrible.

when game downloads install a lot of them have a point where they say you can start playing but really it's just a very limited sandbox to keep you busy while the rest installs.

trying again today might have let it have enough time to finish installing the rest and all options will open up.

otherwise might need to delete and reinstall.

I love Steep / Riders Republic for that kind of repeat until perfect switch your brain off thing.

Sticks are horrible on switch for precision. Massive difference vs Xbox controller.

I really got angry playing this game mainly due to the camera angle to controller/steering perspective. Maybe thats the challenge but its just wrong. Nice game, needs a better perspective to steering relationship.

@HatBeard @ric_a5 - thanks guys. Last night, it reached the sandbox bit, but then when it was supposedly fully downloaded, it wouldn't open. I was mega-pissed off as I only get the occasional night to play games every few months as our boy is not allowed to know we have a console.

It's working fine today, however. This is great, as I'm having to take an extra few days off work following shoulder surgery, so can play today. Rather pleasantly, I can't sit at a desk and type, but I can sit on the sofa with a controller.

On the joy-cons or the pro controller? Or both?
Admittedly I don’t think I’ve tried it since I bought a pro controller, but did give up on that game as I didn’t feel I was progressing enough.

You can change steering between directional and relative I think. But also, you might just need to work on your brain a bit. Did you struggle with remote control cars as a child?

Agreed. The perspective is a tough thing to adjust to. Fun, but I sort of gave up for the same reason.

Just finished Starfield. It was, I think, the most underwhelming ending of any game I've finished.

I actually don't know what the point of the story was, although by the end the dialogue were getting so tedious I was skim reading and skipping them so unlikely missed something.

Any day now and I’ll be moaning I didn’t get the OLED.
