• On the Sky News site today:

Parcel delivery companies ranked in annual survey

Evri and Yodel ranked at the bottom of the league table, both managing an overall score of just two stars out of a possible five. But there was not much between the top and bottom positions, with Royal Mail and Amazon in joint first position with 2.75 stars.

Meanwhile, 13.3 million people - 34% of consumers - said they had experienced a delivery problem in the last month. Common complaints included parcels being left in insecure locations or arriving late, a survey for the charity found.

The worst offenders were Yodel, with 40% of customers reporting a problem, DPD at 37%, and Evri at 34%. Of those customers, nearly half (43%) had a further issue when trying to resolve the problem. Individuals were often unable to find the right company contact details or did not receive a response.

  • Not surprising that Evri and Yodel are at the bottom. Who the fuck is taking time out of their day to give a delivery company anything but a 1 star rating though? If a package turns up as expected, I'm not going on Trustpilot to leave a 5 star review. Even weirder is leaving a 3 star rating I reckon.

  • Good comment on reviews polarising to the extremes ! Any statisians on board ??

  • Update:

Can see on the tracking parcel has been picked up by courier yesterday.Asked the buyer to let me know once posted.... no reply to that

I definitely wont be making the refund process easy for him. Will have to refund me amount for a new tubeless kit and there is a possibility of missing parts

When i get the wheels back ill be listing them on here for £250 posted if anyone is interested inc tires and xt rotors (will check the "crack" over but its a scratch)

  • Can they be converted to 100/135mm QR?

  • Think you would need new axle for both hubs. So quite pricey

  • Update

Got the wheels. I was right, messing rotor bolts, both of the axle end caps and no rim tape an

Seller included the rim tape and i can see its been sliced with a stanley

So the refund isnt going to be straight forward for him. Reported him to ebay now. He claimed he used a tire leaver to remove the tape (id like to see how hes done tbf)

He wanted 150 back off me so im asking for the same including missing bits. What a cunt of a buyer

If youre gonna lie at least dont send me the evidence 😂

  • Funny how the cut in that rim tape looks like it might match the dimensions of that scratch on the rim. Crazy coincidence.

  • Yeah looks the same if you ask me. At least throw it away before sending 😂. Not a very smart individual as you can see

  • Posting advice on here was a jinx ... after 2,000+ happy sales a buyer has had the item for 2 weeks, THEN asks for a refund because "I changed my mind".

Needless to say it's a ZERO feedback member, in future I may block them and relist items they buy.

Adding insult to injury, eBay gives him 3 week from now to post the darn thing back.

  • Sounds like they used it for whatever they needed and then want rid again for free... Fuckers.

  • If an ebay item is marked as delivered, but hasn't been and you suspect the postie has left it at the wrong house (like the Rouleur magazine that a neighbour reposted), is there anything you can do other than hope your stuff gets posted on? I raised a "not received" dispute but the seller (fairly) claimed it was delivered. Anyone successfully claimed from Royal Mail? Fortunately for some doorstops totalling £3 not a laptop...

  • The contract with royal mail is between them and the seller. You are right to open a not received case as... you haven't received it. I would ask the seller to contact royal mail. I assume there is no proof of delivery other than it being marked as delivered?

  • Yes as far as I know, no picture as proof just recorded as delivered. I thought as much looking at the Royal Mail website, will keep at the seller and get to the bottom of it.

  • I had this and although there was no picture of delivery there was a location from royal mail when I went on the tracking and I could see roughly where it had ended up within a house or two (not at my house).

  • Thanks for that, rechecked and it's just marked as delivered. HAve to wait a while then get eBay to jump in it seems. The joys of living in an area with multiple combinations of road names: Blah St, Blah Ave, Blah Drive etc.

  • That's what post codes are for 😁

  • Thanks for the advice on digging in. I have an email from Royal Mail saying the item (5x Doorstops for £2.99) were not delivered to my address. Sent to eBay but they need more info. Royal Mail trying to fob me off to claim from the seller. Pyrrhic victory slowly coming...

  • Why do people on eBay keep asking if things are still available? Surely it's obvious given that the ability to buy it is still available?

  • Beyond taking the cake with recent buyer interaction.

Sold something on Thursday - buyer paid on Friday as asked for “speedy” shipping. I sent special delivery by 1pm on Saturday, which due the weekend, should have been delivered today but instead will be delivered tomorrow by 1pm.

Seller didn’t tell me he’s flying off on holiday and leaving 9am tomorrow and this is all my fault and I need to issue a refund and his friend will post the item back to me.

Even worse he asked to return the item before even receiving it, on the grounds it’s not as described, and eBay automatically approved it

  • Trying to purchase a phone from ebay and realise I've made a pretty big mistake. I'm sure the phone I've bought is fake now but I haven't received it yet. Seller didn't send the item for a week, opened an item not received request and he's been asking me to close the case whilst updating the tracking. I'm not going to close the case before I receive the item. Post office have attempted delivery today for the first time and the address is apparently not accessible? This is possible but unlikely as I've never had the post office struggle to reach my address before. When I attempt to organise a redelivery I can see they have at least put my post code in. Now I'm not sure what to do. I just want my money back with as little faff as possible but I'm worried I might slip up somehow and invalidate the money back guarantee which I'm pretty sure the seller is banking on.

Do I let them try and redeliver to whatever address theyve put down? If they cant get to it, will I still be able to get a full refund or am I in some way responsible if the item doesn't reach me? I could ask to pick it up from the post office but I've not done this before. Apparently they would send me an email but I imagine that goes to the ebay seller as I dont see how they can have my email?

I thought about rejecting the delivery myself but apparently that does invalidate the money back guarantee.

If I do manage to receive this item, do I need to video myself opening it or anything to prove that they sent me a fake phone?

  • if you take delivery of it and it is fake, then aren't you still covered as long as it's not been advertised as fake?
in what way is it a fake phone? a dummy shop display?

  • Until you have the physical item in your possession you won't be able to claim it's fake.
Also, you won't be able to open a return request until the 'item not received' case is closed.
Therefore, first action is to receive the item by whatever means necessary. If the PO can't deliver for any reason, they should hold it for you for a couple of weeks.
You then collect from your local delivery office. Once the PO system has updated to show the item delivered / collected, the case will close automatically; or you can do it yourself.
Once you have the item, if it is indeed fake, open a new case / return stating you suspect item is counterfeit.
As long as you do things in the right order you should be fine.

  • Last Sunday I posted a Vanson jacket for sale and paid a few bucks extra to have it highlighted in searches. When I do a search for the same (either signed in or out) it only eventually shows at the bottom of the results, under "you should also consider" or whatever. WTF.
Can anyone here do a search and report back? Thanks, I sell under fornow2005.
