This will be my fate as well I'm sure. I am about half way though and don't feel anyway capable of that invisible section after watching it.

With all the resident evil love I feel compelled to say I finished Alan Wake 2 - different game but an absolute master piece.
Such great narrative gameplay. I don't think I've played anything quite as proficient at pulling you through a story and it not getting boring or feeling restrictive. -

Is today the start of Black Friday deals???
-

Everyone's going to point at laugh at me when my 512GB LCD arrives, but I won't care because Sonic 1 will still look great.

Some companies have started a while back.
Some will make an event of it and do it on the day.
YMMV but check what the prices were before, as the vast majority of "deals" are not really savings at all, just a return to the normal pricing after a temporary period of a higher price.

Thinking of getting my 7 year old a switch lite, looks like I can get it for £183 including animal crossing which is what I had in mind for her. Is this a good idea? Is there any reason not to get a lite ?

can't replace the controllers in case they break, can't use docked mode. Not much downside for a kid. Biggest downside for me would be my hands not fitting the stock controllers but that's a fully grown adult problem. Seems like a good deal, Switches are very rarely on sale. There's a new version coming some time maybe next year maybe the year after, not worth waiting for.

nice one, just what I needed to hear. Thank you.

18 quid for red dead 2. Sounds a deal.
What about £46 for Diablo 4? -
• #28688
I found diablo 4 quite repetitive and boring personally.
I've bought RE2 remake for £7 after really enjoying the RE4 remake.
Also got Dredge for £15 I think it was, after recommended on here.
Pondered FIFA at £35, but apparently it's not changed much to be worth it.

I am a light PC gamer.
Kinda want a console to attach to TV. Total n00b about current offerings. Both PS5 and Xbox (the one that can take a disc) are similarly priced.
In longer term which one is cheaper? I am happy to play Fifa 22 instead of 24 if it means I can get the disc for £2. I dont have much interest in online gaming either.

Older console?
Have no idea, as I'm not a cutting edge gamer as I play in fits and bursts. Also not wanting to play football games.

Get an xbox series S, get gamepass.

Sounds like a good idea! What about storage options? I also came across this; is it legit? https://www.cjs-cdkeys.com/categories/XBOX-Games-%28Digital-Downloads%29/

if you want keys cdkeys.com is the best but with console games make double sure it's not an account you're buying not just the game key.
Storage options, you can connect an external HD to the xbox to store games but you need to move them to the internal drive to play them, or pay for a proprietry expansion card, that's one the main downsides of the xbox compared to the playstation, it's about £130 for a 1Tb stick. -

Please explain :)

Noted. How big are the games usually?

CDKeys is 'legit' as in they'll deliver working keys. Not sure how they acquire them.
A console without a disc drive is always going to be more expensive because you'll have to buy from restricted marketplaces unlike just picking up a disc off Ebay.
However, if you don't mind subscriptions then gamepass (xbox) is the best service available for cost vs game choice.

This is what I thought, saw some titles on musicmagpie etc assume they are discs? The diff between disc and non disc xbox is £150, thats like 15 games from CD keys. Will the disc drive also play blu rays?

See how it says "code delivered to you digitally", that's good. If it says it's an account they'll just send over the log in details of an account that has that game on it.
Game sizes differ a lot, smaller ones like Deep Rock Galactic are like 10gb but Modern Warfare will want 150gb of space. I usually have a couple of big games and a few smaller ones installed at any time

Both PS5 & Xbox Series X have 4K blu-ray drives. They're noisy and not as good as a dedicated one but better than not having one.
I have a PS5 and a Series X and for the casual gamer, I would say Xbox is better. PS5 has better exclusives but they're £70 a pop which is half a year of gamepass with hundreds of games to choose from.

ah perfect, thank you, are the transfers to external drive slow? or is it 3gb/s or something?

Honestly don't know, I don't use one, if I delete a game and want it back on I'll just download it again.
My steamdeck has been packed ready for dispatch. Woohoo!
