I've asked about pension consolidation before, probably in the Investment thread or similar. There were probably some useful replies. I've not consolidated them.

I had a final salary pension for all of 14 months before getting made redundant.

I'm just trying to get one that has a very little in (was there for a year) , into my current pension, trying to get it down to 3!

I’ve got a shit one I tried to consolidate with a less shit one. Both with same provider. Gave up trying. Plan now is to cash out the littler one and spunk it on the woofers and the gee-gees for shits and giggles.

That makes a lot of sense then. I've done that already, had a couple where I was only in the job for about 18 months each time, and they've been folded into my current scheme.

My partner and I have always had a joint account, but, I have always managed all the DDs and SOs. We had the "when you die what am I going to do conversation last night. Now going to have a sit down with all the utility bills etc...

Embracing the shower squeegee, because anything which makes cleaning quicker and easier is a good thin.
My IFA was going to help but would charge £150 per pension to read all of the small print and ensure that no bonuses were lost or funds weren't transferred just before annual interest/dividend payments or similar, but they were simple enough to do all that research myself looking at the documents and statements.
Amazing lack of authorisation/confirmation. I never received anything from one provider to notify me that I'd requested to transfer the pension out, by the time I got an email to say "You have a secure message on your account" my login no longer worked so I couldn't read it. All of the fund values and transfer values checked out fine though.
