Anyone ever try an Alpkit Tarpstar 1? Looks very nice but sold out everywhere

Alpkit having a sale

Alpkit rhymes with shit for a reason
All the disadvantages of Aliexpress with none of the upsides -
• #2833
The disadvantages being... shipping takes a month or more, can include hidden import charges and there's no customer support? Doesn't line up with my generally positive experiences with Alpkit.

• #2834
I had one shipping problem with Alpkit, which was clearly RM's fault. Customer services were great, as they have been the other couple of times I've dealt with them. 🤷

Recent lurker, don’t know very much. Still looking for a 1 man which fits a very tall person. Was on a over the weekend and these big Agnes tents looked great that a couple of mates had. I fit in at 6ft4, and they strapped to a drop bar in a tiny pack size. Better than my (a bit leaky) borrowed tarp setup

I'm pausing my search for one person tarp-bivvy set ups and now looking for an all purpose 2 person tent. I'm into the double rainbow, seems incredibly well reviewed for the price. 1kg is pretty good, porch mode and I like the colour.
Is there another one around the £300 mark that i'm neglecting? First use will be 5 days around the Abruzzo region doing the wolf lair route.

I have a trekkertent phreeranger 2. Similar design. I like it a lot. Sadly not for sale but they come up a bit. There's a FB group.

ended up getting a tarpstar 2 due to timings, discount and I like pyramids. Annoyingly they have no 125mm poles in stock so that means I get to go full cottage-core weight weenie right?
The bearbones site seems to be down? but was getting good reviews up thread.
https://www.bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/product-tag/tarp-poles/This is also fits the bill I presume but people upthread were talking about flimsyness?

Must be the wrong Alpkit, used their Soloist and a mat for LA-NYC, both worked perfectly.

Big Agnes now make a long version of their Copper Spur tent which is great for really tall guys (like meyself) but annoyingly they dont do the bikepacking version of it and the poles are about 55cm long so tricky to transport on a bike:

So why the Hippy Down Under pack? Many of you will have dotwatched this young man's adventures & witnessed his campground calamities.
"young" man? OK, the "campground calamities" I can believe. I would buy this product.

I'm really only 23. These ultras have taken their toll...

• #2847
That’s a pretty neat solution, I’ll measure up my downtube and get back to you

They look pretty light and compact. Worth getting in stead of a 2 person for solo Bikepacking? Or is it just too big?
-
• #2850
A three person tent for solo bikepacking is crazy IMO. A two person Copper Spur or Tiger Wall will already be very lux for one person.
Ah ok. I've messaged them, so see what they say.
Do you know anyone that makes bendy poles at custom lengths that's recommended?
