If you've got a VPN for dodgy foreign soaps:

It’s £6.99 a month standalone direct with Discovery, you don’t need prime.

I would imagine they'll dump those onto regular GCN over the next couple of years and stop making new ones. "Free" content for youtube ad revenue.
I'm trying to work out where the main races are covered on French TV as I can get a box from my folks to watch here (I'm in Europe).

I guess it depends who owns the gcn+ films.
Warner Bros. Discovery has developed a passion for locking away art for the tax write off.

I love when big business buys up the little guys, chews them up, and then shits out a worse more expensive product. This is the same Warner bros that shelved a completed movie to get a tax break no? Back to tiz for me.

"We have tremendous respect for the filmmakers, casts and crew but $$$ talks cunts, see yaz!"
The writer-director Brian Duffield tweeted: “I have seen this movie and it is excellent. It also tested in the high 90s repeatedly. It also had interested buyers. The people working at Warner Bros are anti-art and I hope multiple anvils drop on their heads.”
The decision follows the studio’s decision to pull the plug on the $90m Batgirl last year despite the film being in post-production.
The studio also cancelled the release of the $40m sequel Scoob! Holiday Haunt.

Discovery plus is exactly what Eurosport player used to be (plus a load of other crappy tv). On the basic package, which I have as a yearly sub, there are advert free streams of basically all cycling stuff. If you watch the E1 or E2 branded streams those do have adverts. Can’t remember when I last watched something without advert free option. Also has many other language options.
-
• #48138
As INRNG just posted it's weird Discovery will just let 1000s of CGN+ subs just disappear without any attempt at retention
On the plus side, they might not be able to afford to keep Carlton.

I think it's the multi-language stream that's ad free?

Top Macguver request there
-
• #48141
Yep that sounds about right.
-
• #48142
Weird. They plowed so much money into it making content for it.
-
• #48143
Can we all just start lobbying itv 4 to show the giro and the vuelta again as well as Tour de France. Other than the adverts a lot of their coverage is better anyway. The highlights definitely so.
-
• #48144
The responses on here highlight very clearly that people like watching cycling via streaming services, they just don't want to pay for it.
-
• #48145
Absolutely don't mind paying for it. I'd pay an increased rate to keep it
-
• #48146
.
Wrong info - thought I’d found another account option. Looks like they’re getting rid of the annual option. Mine changes to monthly £6.99 from Feb when the year runs out. -
• #48147
I meant more all the silly films. But yes, I log in using my father's account because I'm cheap. But I don't watch much racing now. And itv is better for the tour anyway.
-
• #48148
Hmm, a bit of a kicker going from £20/£30 a year discounted subscription (or even £39 full rate), to an effective ££74 though.
I was really starting to enjoy cyclocross too… Anyone know whether the main series CX races are available on euro streams via VPN? (In which case I’ll just subscribe for March-May, then switch to ITV4)

Asking for a friend, how many users can logged into D+/Eurosport at once?...
-
• #48150
Yet... we were paying for it. Who, other than GCN+ subscribers, give a shit if GCN+ goes away?

If you have Prime (I don't) you can get Disco+ for £7/month
