I’m thinning down my collection of bikes and so am selling my less frequently used bikes/parts. So now this Knight sadly has to go.
It's a Knight Cycles of Wolverhampton bike built up for touring/fast commuting which I believe is from the early 80s judging from the frame and parts originally fitted. The bike’s frame is well made from a respected builder with a nicely done paint job. I’ve upgraded it with some 90s parts that I feel don’t spoil the 80s look of the bike. These are the Shimano 105 7 speed shifters, Rigida wheels with 105 hubs (same gen as the shifters), Shimano Tiagra rear mech and Tektro dual caliper brakes, plus SKS mudgurards. Tyres, cassette and chain are more modern.
57cm frame size (from centre bottom bracket to top of seat tube), with top tube measuring 55.5cm. Rear wheel OLN is 126mm.
Spec as follows:
Reynolds 531 butted tubing frame and chromed forks.
Cast lugs with cutouts. Dropouts are by Campagnolo.
Colour is greyish blue with red decals that have a gold border, paintwork is pretty new looking with no chips although there's a few scuffs around the frame. There's also a slight dink to the top tube, please check out the images. Chrome on the forks is excellent.
Wheels are Shimano 105 hubs laced to Rigida SX100 rims, wheels are an upgrade made prior to listing the bike for sale, and rims show virtually no wear and wheels are pretty much as new generally.
Schwalbe Blizzard and Vittoria Zaffiro modern tyres, both 23c.
Lyotard 82 pedals.
Kalloy seatpost.
Campagnolo seatpost clamp bolt.
SKS mudguards.
I have a quality saddle bag and same era dynamo front/rear light set up I can sell to the new owner if required. I can also provide clips and straps for the pedals, if that's your thing.
The bike is in pretty excellent condition throughout and I've fully rebuilt it from the ground up, servicing all parts and checking for any wear/damage. So all parts work as they should and set up has been fine tuned to give optimum performance. The bike is ready for some serious touring/road use action:)
Collection is preferred (Hendon, NW4), but I have a bike box handy so can post the bike if needs be, ask for details.
£200 including postage, or collect the bike for £185.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:

Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
