I was surprised to find our local Lidl freezer full of whole octopi. Can't think the good folk of Streatham would be that keen on it, but I'm sure the algorithm knows best.
The family told me I couldn't buy one as they are too clever to eat so that's gone the way of foie gras (as we are in the GC thread).

I used to buy whole squid from Morissons, pretty sure they had octopus too

Fois gras is fine, because the ducks are too stupid to regulate their appetite.
The local Lidl had whole Canadian lobsters for £10, wonder whether people think they are expensive giant shrimp.

As an East Asian, people saying we eat dog as an insult has never really bothered me.
Some people do.
Then again, some French people eat snails and frogs.
Some Koreans eat silkworm larvae, live octopus (and dog)
Some Cambodians eat tarantulas
Some English people eat deep fried mars bars and skips.
