If by shit you mean my back, I agree!
@Light_EDDed Looking at sold items I reckon it’s only worth £50 at best and if I can’t use it I’ll donate it to the allotment association.

Just hope it doesn’t get stolen. No dig is such a no brainer. I’m surprised people even bother burning over the soil at all anymore

Onions looking happy and tons of mushrooms in the paths today.
I know nothing about mushrooms- tasty? Trippy? Poison?

It is if you have a decent, close supply of cheap/free organic matter. If you have to buy it in or go and shovel it from miles away then a fork and some elbow grease becomes more appealing. That said it is quite a generational thing to turn the soil. Older generation definitely favour digging everything over.

Was growing some potatoes in containers for Christmas but the plants have rotted where it's been so wet. Emptied them out today, wasn't expected much but still got a decent amount out of two containers. Also started putting a pond in at the plot, come on frogs.

I got a lot of timber for pennies so I spent the day bodging a Shed together. I need to do some horizontal supports and maybe an extra lintel for the roof. I'm now using my girlfriends Facebook account to hunt down some cheapish sheets of outdoor ply and hopefully and odd window or two. I decided im not going to bother with a door as thieves seem pretty adept at breaking in. I'm going to have a Japanese Noren instead.

Looks a good few steps above a bodge, that. Great stuff.
I started digging the last row of my spuds out last Sunday. Bit nibbled but largely good. Left another 3-4 plants left Will they have been wrecked by the freezing weather?

How are peoples onion sets getting along? Mine have all sprouted but the tops are a bit spiralled and straggly. Can’t remember what they looked like this time last year..

you still getting onions! Impressive.
They were just stored on dry racking since lifted in summer by the shed so not 'fresh' but nice to bring home to use still.
Impressive sprout hauls both!

They'll be fine I'm sure. Mine have done sweet f.a. so far. Might be spring planting too!

Yeah my onions and garlic are both struggling but they went in late. Will just have to wait and see.
Broad beans seem to have taken off ok tho.
