Some people are nervous flyers and are glad it’s over. Others feel excited by flying and clap because the exciting experience/performance is over.
Had two aborted landings at Gatwick (I think) once. Everyone clapped and no one judged.

I had a connecting flight once. Shit experience, never again. If I can't fly direct from London I don't go.

I’m n a flight there were about 60 really excited French kids all in the front row.
They were wired and supper chatty.
Then the plane hit a fair amount of turbulence. The landing was tricky and we hit the runway hard.
That’s the only time I heard applause on a flight. In the context…it was merited -

It's called bleed air and you're referring to aerotoxic syndrome: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerotoxic_syndrome
Still disputed but there seems to be plenty of circumstantial/anecdotal evidence

Interesting. Wonder if this is what causes the “airplane smell”?

Documentary producer said it (May be a prime cause or) caused the post-flight respiratory ailments that most passengers attribute to being enclosed in the cabin with loads of strangers.

We've continued wearing masks on flights. Not for 'rona but because our airways aren't so fucked after breathing in all that cold, dry air for hours.

Didn’t even realise Geert Wilders was still a thing until I saw that headline. Poor show, Dutch cousins.

Javier Milei in the recent Argentine PM elections tho...
And the real wtf is that he was the better of the two candidates - at least in terms of past performance as a leader of the country. Milei may by a right-wing absolute literal crackpot, but he hasn't caused the
eclmonybtoeconomic nosedive spectacularly.[Edit] Always proof read your posts, kids.
