  • Damn.

I remember a machine in the basement of an arcade in central London up until a couple years ago, maybe on the Southbank?

Once upon a time was a machine in Swindon in the cinema. Can’t remember the other locations I found OR2 over the years.

On the subject, I sorely miss using just once in my life Afterburner and Afterburner 3D. Both were full moving cabs in the Canary Islands. They had the most awesome arcades in the 90’s and early 00’s.

  • Yeah there was a Namco Arcade on the Southbank, never got to go to it myself and looks like it closed down just after COVID.

I remember getting a bus down to Dublin with a friend solely to go play on one of these:

That and the Battle Gear cabinets were always my go to. Need to have another look at running OutRun 2006 on my computer. Tried getting the PC version working with a wheel last year and it was a faff, might try a PS2 emulator instead (in fact, I'm fairly sure I've still got the PS2 disc kicking around somewhere so might just try that first!)

  • Yea still got my OG XBox that was softmodded, with both versions of OR2 on the hdd. That with a…Logitech?… wheel with force feedback, that’s the dog’s.

Would love to get it running through the PC but modding the OG cable connector and driver problems it would be easier to buy a PS2/USB wheel I guess.
