• Anyone seen the new Infocrank in the flesh?

  • My Stages (generation 3 right side) pm seems to have had a calibration meltdown. It used to calibrate around 890 but that number has gone to 1260 and sometimes higher. This seems to have completely messed it up so all the readings are completely off or just not working at all. Anyone have a similar experience?

  • Can you use a crank arm powermeter on a mid-drive ebike, Steps e6100, or will the motor driving the crank skew the data?

  • I don't see how the power meter would be able to isolate your watts from the huge torque of the e-bike.

  • The ebike motor drives the chainring directly, not the cranks. So in theory you could use a crank based powermeter on an e-bike. The difficulty will be finding powermeter cranks with the correct interface for the motor spindle. You will also need to be careful of clearance. Lots of ebike cranks are very close to the motor.

  • I happen to have a 4iiii XT crank with a wide q factor, that looks like it will fit a Step e6100 and clear the motor. If it doesn't work that's OK, not going to go and buy anything. A passing curiosity, can always just stick it on and see I guess..

  • Failing a Speedplay pedal, anyone got a Hollowtech II left crank in 170mm they’d lend me from 8th to 16th September? Many beers / some cash in return.

  • I've got a Rotor P2M gravel crankset that's not in a bike, it's 165mm though.
    Or rim brake Powertap wheels.

  • Thanks, but not quite the ticket. I’m hiring a gravel bike and would like power, hoping to just swap the left crank. cjr has a 165mm but I’m sure they use 170 or 172.5 on the stock hire bikes. Unless GRX800 is usually 165…?

Don’t think I’d get a powetap wheel through airport security and I’d rather not mess with BBs or swap a whole chainset.

  • If you're hiring, can't you get them to fit a powermeter? Also, why? If you're hiring a bike I presume it's a holiday rather than competitive...

  • Don’t think they do them. September trip is usually a bit of a training camp so nice to see the numbers and track tss accurately. I can recreate some of this years HCs too to gauge race pace.

  • Fair enough. Remember off-road is more demanding than on-road for the same recorded TSS though - your whole body gets done over (unless you're on Champagne Gravel™) so the actual training stress is higher.

  • We seem to have entered the realm of reliable £225 24mm axle Shimano BCD spider based powermeters whilst I wasn't paying attention. Will there be VAT and duty on top from AliExpress?

  • Will there be VAT and duty on top from AliExpress?

Can be a lottery, but you should allow for it in your calculation

  • There was a warning before checkout that if VAT had to be collected it would be added but none was. Which means nothing I'm sure. Glad I didn't pull the trigger on some Duo Shi two weeks ago.

  • Aliexpress only collects VAT on orders under £130, above that it depends on the UK customs

  • Well powermeter from Magene store has failed to arrive and the tracking number they gave is bobbins, their customer service chat is useless and they have added £30 to the price for anyone buying now.

Despite being way past the estimated delivery date where AliX say you can apply for a refund, it won't allow me to apply for one either.

    10/10 AliExpress experience

  • It took forever for my knock off socks to arrive.

  • The power of the forum; after 16 days of no updates the tracking number has suddenly gone live

  • What would people go with- €150 powertap p1 or €350 assioma duos?
I know the powertap ones are way older but saving €200 will let me spend it on other upgrades haha

  • I'd save €200..have several left only meters and they are good enough.

  • Well the powertap p1 is double leg as well, I'm just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with them because they're kinda old. Hard to find many reviews of them

  • Assiomas. Fit and forget

  • Power tap g3 gubbins
    Free
    Anyone?

  • If you can't get rid of them elsewhere, I still use G3 hubs.
