  • Sodium sulphate
    Sodium carbonate
    Sodium percarbonate

One of those is doing all the heavy lifting and the other two are just filler. PulyCaff powder is about three or four times the price of sodium percarbonate from an aquarium supplies outlet.

  • I think it’s only the sodium sulphate which is a filler. The sodium carbonate is the detergent and that’s probably what I can feel saponifying (sp?) my skin when I get it on my fingers.

Good spot, it forms hydroxide ions in solution which will indeed saponify your skin oils and any residual milk fat in the flask. I rather imagined that the offending flask had already been washed out with a detergent 🙂
