  • Nifty! What are those clamps called?

  • They are the p-clamps for attaching Velo-Orange fender struts to the frame.

  • Sometimes called r clips

  • strong work. I might steal this idea for the future

    Please do

  • Finally found a way to mount a front light while there is only a eyelet on the back of the fork.

Bought a mount for an urban arrow cargo bike for €5 at a LBS and bent the mount a bit using a vice. Was easier than expected as the curvature was already close. I did add one knuckle to the mount in order to create some offset from the mud guard for the light.

  • Nice work. Is the mudguard rolled further forward because of mounting onto the light bracket ahead of the fork crown? Or does it just have loads of coverage?

  • Looks great, super neat.

Any issues with the mount bouncing or flexing or is it nice and solid? Been trying to make something similar for a little while now

  • Where are people buying their front wheels from? Or just buying the parts and building themselves?

    Spa?

  • Yes, Spa Cycles, and also via discussion with local wheel builders. Haven't been brave enough to acquire and lace up all the parts myself yet

  • @jackbepablo Yes, rolled it a bit forward as I did not wanted to drill additional holes in it. Only a couple of cm’s (about 3 to 4 cm) as the mount for the mud guard used to be hidden underneath the fork crown.
It still has sufficient coverage though, it was perhaps a bit too low before this modification.

@WhitleyJay Thanks! So far so good on tarmac. Haven’t ridden on gravel yet.

  • Spa built my dynamo wheel. Couldn't even buy the parts cheaper to be totally honest let alone a full wheel

  • Any experience of k-lite lights and chargers? Going to be doing some overnight rides (as well as early mornings/late nights when it's dark) and heard good things

  • No experience, but I quite like the look.

Looking into Forumslader V6 right now, it has 3 inbuilt 18650 cells, seems to be quite efficient, and can output 12v so you can use a fuck off ebike lamp.
Especially the inbuilt Akku sounds good as through charge power banks are not easy to find.
Last price I can see is 255€ which leaves quite some money for a lamp compared to klite and the other nice one with inbuilt charger.
But then the homepage is confusing, and I read German quite well.

  • Lots of light! Not suitable for road cycling though as it is basically a flood light and does not create a nice beam on the road.

I once had a car that was signaling with his headlights while using the k-lite light. I assume that I was blinding him, normally it is the other way around. I have the off road version.

  • I was thinking of the race version which has a tighter beam pattern as on the odd occasion I ride offroad in the dark, I ride with a "normal" light plus a light on my helmet to see where I'm looking and haven't had issues.

  • Only a bit tighter beam as the only difference is two spot lights and a single flood light (road) vs two flood lights and a single spot light for the off-road version.

  • I reckon they are great, have both the mtb and road versions

  • Do people here think an iq-x is worth the extra money over an iq-xs? I'm finding it hard to decide

  • Waterproofness and those extra lumens are worth it IMO

  • Got a Supernova E3 Pro 2 + taillight (and some mounts) and a sinewave I'm going to look to shift if anyone is in the market for them.

  • How much for the sinewave?

  • Not worth twice the price, you only get a few more lumens.

  • How and where are you riding?
I've got the iq-xs and some less powerfull axas. In the city I've never needed more than 30 lux and I've found the iq-xs to be good without street lights and around 25-30 km/hour

  • What tail light are you looking to sell?
