I thought I’d ask here.
I have a 90’s rigid 26er and want a shorter Omnium’ish cargo bike. I’m won a very cheap, £5 inc p&! 29er suspension corrected fork, I have 20” wheel, I have some steel tube and flat stock. I also have a welder.
Old forks ac 390mm
Old tyre diameter 639mm ( 1.5x26)
New forks ac 450mm
New tyre diameter 506mm (2x20, but I think I could squeeze a 2.2 in there for more height?)
All that gets the headset within 15mm of it original height from the ground.
I’m I missing something?
I know I’m going to have to work around the top of the forks, but other than that?
I’ve had a play with the measurements, some cable ties, an old fork and a different frame.

Bb height looks really quite low?

I fear you may be right. I’ve worked out the fork length based on the non original shorter fork I’ve been using. Oh well.

Omnium owners/general cargo bike experience Havers - I've had my omnium for about a year, gets some pretty heavy use - due to enjoying recycling/being cheap I've never had any kind of proper branded webbing, I made something just using old inner tubes and some sort of webbing stuff I found. This is what's happening to the front headset, should I be worried? Should I just bite the bullet and buy something made for the job?

Does anyone want this rudimentary Bullit box? Someone was looking recently iirc. It’s for the bin otherwise

Don't worry about the top cap, but yes the webbing is worth it.

I made my own webbing platform. Worked out to about £20 in materials (I overbought by quite a lot) and some time with a sewing machine. If I had to do it again I’d prob just buy the omnium webbing 😅. I added a little bolle pouch to the underside which is quite useful for tie down straps n stuff

Bleurgh, lifted up the bike parka today which had somehow trailed on the ground all around the base of the bike. Totally soaked from condensation on the inside. Have hung it out to dry today. I saw it a few days ago and thought it would be OK... need to not be so lazy!

for the eurobox I have on the gsd, does anyone know who makes a relatively simple roll top 40 x 30 base bag? The box is 27cm tall, anything maybe 5cm taller in that comes in the way of the front light.

I've just finished making an under load compartment for a battery and the controller on my bullitt, two compartments, one with a combination lock to store tools in.

This is really cool. What hooks/tie downs are used underneath?
I've just spent some time looking at all the plastic offerings online because I need some
Any specific issues? They are look to be super cheap this winter where I am second hand especially for the spec. I mean Im not into the enviolo but otherwise
