Thanks very much! (I'll almost certainly ask again next year)

£70? What's special about this event?

Looks like it includes 3 nights accommodation and bag transfer. Luxury.

You can put DIYs towards your SR (or AAA SR) each year, and the ultra SR thing just looks at however many SRs you have.
So I can't see why that wouldn't be the case...

Cheers!

Pretty sure the BCM itself had crept up to about £70 entry last time I looked, so I guess that's good value.

Doesn't look like the Inverness 1200 is on 2024.
There is a 600k North Coast Classic

Yeah it was also 70. I have no interest in doing it again though.

I'm just glad I had done a 200 in the week as I stacked it on Dartmoor on Sunday, and was rescued by a passing van driver.
10 stitches later and it's still oozing.

Sorry to hear that. I've been riding pretty carefully given the tonnes of soggy slippery bastard leaves about. I was standing on some wooden decking the other day and it was like a bloody ice rink!

It's only after being told that I realise "Emitremmus" is Summertime backwards.

Embarrassingly, I think a cattle grid must had been the cause of my crash. Funnily enough, it was on Devil I crashed. Fairly good weather this year, only rained 40% of the day and winds were under 20mph.

Historical! :)

Does anyone know when did LWL sell out?
-
• #12891
Within a few hours
-
• #12892
Was sold out 2 weeks ago when I looked
-
• #12893
Right. I checked a couple weeks back thinking I can’t possibly have missed it this early

Liam was surprised. He hadn't expected it given its not a PBP year.
I wasn't that surprised as he's done a great job building up a brand, got a good mailing list, and it's right beside London.
I did it 3 or 4 times when it was the old Severn Across and, some years, there were about 20 riders. -

Yeah I think the 2020 (maybe 2019) edition it was booked up after just a couple days?

I'm planning on doing rrty and wondering if anyone has some nice 200k diy routes from west/sw London? Looking for some routes to co-opt that have some of those magical qualities of semi-decent road surface and wide enough to not get buzzed by trucks doing 50. I'd normally just be on lanes and back roads but things seem to be reasonably bad with debris, storms and road surface atm.

Just a thought, as it's a DIY there is no pressure to start anywhere, why don't you jump on a train 45 mins / hour from your most convenient station and start somewhere nice? Better access to different lanes (although I can't speak to the cleanliness). Unless you're really time poor an extra 45 mins or so removes that grim M25 drag out and back which is usually the last thing I want at the start and end of 200km.

I second that motion to train and ride. Did one at the weekend from Bishop's Stortford and it was ace to be in lanes within a couple of mins of leaving the station. St. Alban's and Stevenage also work as starting points and I guess if you're going south then somewhere like Crawley perhaps?

I can't promise what you want but I can probably dig some routes out that I used. I know I did Boat Trip a lot from my place simply because it was close. But I only did some mega hilly routes for AAA points.
ie.

I modified this to start closer to home.
Don't know if I've ridden this one yet:

EWE BAA, I did as a Perm back in 2016, starting from London

There are a couple of hilly ones on here

Yes. Only time they don't count is if you are qualifying for PBP.
