Maybe I'm cheap, but I just don't spend that much on clothes anymore. Definitely couldn't spend >£200 on a pair of trainers, having kids rules that out. I'm glad I bought all my leather shoes when I did and glad wfh and trainers to work means I won't have to resole them often.
My NB 311 are 2yrs old now and still look decent on the outside. They're just getting a bit compressed and worn on the inside and stand out more than I'd like.
To play devils advocate, MiUSA NBs last for so much longer than your average trainer. Like so much longer. But for a similar, cheaper vibe, 2002s are a good compromise.
