If Frame & Forks I'd expect (given the close clearances that literally no-one wants any more) that it really isn't worth a bundle. £150?

True, and I had made it work okay, but a very specific touring frame that I've been looking for for years has come up locally, so rather than trying to adapt this frame beyond its original scope I've decided to put it to one side for now. Basically, I can only afford to build up one or the other (having burnt all my money buying a house), and comfy touring is more my bag for the time being.
I'll start a new thread for the new build, as it's gonna be a long one, and will revisit this in due course if my circumstances change.
