Well I see the problem.

But there are no logs and metrics for this, so I do not see the cause. I'm still in meetings for the next 90 minutes so will look at it when I'm out of the meetings and may roll back if I can't fix it and roll forward quickly.

The DMs are created, but the page is showing an error message... so it's in the redirect that something goes wrong.

also, I had clean forgotten that the UI is doing a crazy orchestration of "create DM", "add participants", "add comment"... and I don't even know how that works TBH as it shouldn't, because the notification is send early and yet includes the comment.

i have forgotten how the code works.

If you need to ask, the answer is probably no.

Though "acceptable"... I'm fairly emotionless, very hyper-rational and I accept a whole range of outcomes very easily... your choices, your consequences... I accept you keeping the same username, I accept you changing it to whatever else that is non-offensive, I accept you changing it to something offensive and getting yourself banned for trolling, it's all acceptable to me.

At a guess you haven't heard about Domonic Cummings silver tongued way of refering to collegues (well members of BJ cabinet) in messages to the COVID enquiry. Though it would a great user name.

Just change it already so someone can steal lynx.
