It's a very accurate remake of an old reference. I like it, but not enough to cough up £1500. Love the size and GMT functionality.

I like the look of the Presage 60s GMTs but not the 41mm sizing.

Not sure about the dial, but the case/ strap combo on that seiko looks perfect.

As others suggested, I have one of these https://www.watchgecko.com/products/milanese-mesh-watch-strap-polished and it is good for the money.

Confirmed with one remark though; not sure if it applies to all mesh bracelets but the only thing I like less about the bracelet is that the closure / clasp is noisy when you tap it / move your wrist.

I like the dial / case.
Crown looks a bit large.
Quite industrial, lots of blunt edges (a good thing IMO)

£1800, more than I have to spend

Finally got my dad's watch on a strap following the service. Super happy with it.

Very nice indeed. Seiko already had too much money from me :)

Btw suggestion for a nice strap for a green dial Sumo (not properly a Sumo, as it's the 140th Solar version. This: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/17034982/ .)

Lost the collars when resizing and can't find spares.

There's bound to be a vintage King Seiko that scratches the itch for a thousand pounds less

Not a fan of lume on the hands but not on the dial [edit: oh - it actually does have lume outside the indices]. Looks larger than 38mm, glad it isn't, though the smaller 37mm size is nicer.

I'm also not sure why they didn't do fitted end links on these. Don't think I like the way they've done these. However, the straight case interface between the lugs will look much better on a strap than the previous King Seiko models.

The dial colour is nice.

I thought it felt very old school as if a 3 days power reserve is the ultimate in the 70’s.

I think they’re really leaning into the vintage vibe more with this.

I discovered you can adjust the hands like that on the 2100 series G-shocks as well, much to the relief of my OCD eyes/brain.

Don’t like the “king Seiko” reference plus subtext and the bracelet looks like an AM one interface-wise.

I always fancied trying one of these. I’ve seen the red dial for £700-800 or something which seems like an ok price.

Edit: thought it was the older release at first glance! I guess this is fresh
