  • Also have standalone wired ThinkPad trackpoint keyboard, in US layout. Feels lovely but I can't switch over from UK layout. Had had little use, in very good condition. Like this: https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/p/accessories-and-software/keyboards-and-mice/keyboards/0b47221

£25 posted, £20 collected from central Bristol

  • AHHHH why is it not wireless!?!?!

    But still interested if available.

  • Can anyone confirm if the Logi MX keys mini should work wired. Was told it would, doesn’t seem want to with my Mac Mini, which I now cannot setup…. Joy. Conflicting info on interwebs.

  • Mine is in the office, I'll try this on Wednesday for you

  • Plugged mine in and I can't get it to work. It's charging but if I switch wireless to an unconfigured one or turn it off, it won't type.

  • Ok, thanks both, much appreciated.

  • Looking to buy Keychron K3 and wondered if anyone knows any discounts over the 10% off on their U.K. site? Is it worth waiting for Black Friday sales - do they do this at the U.K. website?

  • Have a K2 that I've used for a couple of hours but not quite getting on with the 75% size if you're not set on the low profile

  • Cheers but I am after low profile. It’s between Logitech mx keys mini and k3v2 - likely going for brown optical switches. Keychron edging it at the moment.

  • Potentially interested if JonD isn't

  • I don't own an ultrasonic cleaner but I do need to clean my keyboard caps. What's the best - all the caps into a bag, add some sort of solvent, shake around, rub and dry?

  • I had dish washed mine befrore with no problem, either layed them out on the cutlery rack or put them in a sieve.

Otherwise I give them a good scrub with a wet wipe

  • I put them in a bowl of warm dish soapy water, soak for 15 mins when swirl around and leave to dry on a towel

  • That is gold.

  • I just built a travel keyboard and actually, I am just posting this to have something sensible to type to figure out how I get on with it. It definitely feels different to my regular one but I couldn't stand a shitty laptop keyboard anymore when on the go.
The aim was low(er) budget, low profile and less weight over my hefty Tofu65. In short portable.
I like the 65% form factor so I was looking for a Nuphy Air or a Keychron K7 to pop up for sale. I got lucky and found a cheap K7 with little use and a set of nicer keycaps. During black friday I bought some banana low-profile switches (early bump tactile) from Keychron to replace the blue ones on the board and a little leather travelling pouch. Keyboard and Keycaps ended up at my parent's because shipping there was cheaper. When I arrived this morning for Christmas I quickly put everything together. So far I'd say it's decent. The slightly wider keycaps improve the look of the keyboard a lot in my opinion.
Bottom line I paid what a new K7 would've cost me but I already got nicer keycaps, switches and a travel pouch.

  • Very nice @Oddo 👍

  • That looks amazing. Maybe I need to do that to mine.

  • Do it! These are keychron keycaps. I would have loved to get the developer keycaps but they are always sold out.
I’d be curious to try some Etsy low profile keycaps at some point.

  • Yeah they are lovely. How easy was replacing the switches? I didn’t even know that was doable, need to check if mines hot swap.
    Also have a tofu65 which I love!

  • Almost impossible to find low profile keycap sets for UK Iso layout though.

    Shame.

  • My k7 came with this little tool to pull them out and the new ones pop in like Lego. One caveat: lp switches aren’t standardised like the big ones. Really stupid but make sure you buy switches with the right pin layout.

@mashton yeah that’s why I switched to us ansi. Felt like the switch wasn’t that hard. I already retrained from German iso Layout to uk a few years back. German layout isn’t the most convenient for programming.

  • Anybody want a Keychron K2 V2 UK ISO layout with Gateron brown (not hot-swap) and white backlight? Only been used for a few hours - I just don't get on with the height.

£40 posted or pick up from central Bristol for £35

I bought this ^, liked the keyboard but wanted a keypad, so bought K5

Anyone interested at £40 I paid? It's still pristine

    sold, thanks
