I looked at the starting XIs and thought "we're fucked".

Don't know about your team but we took it pretty seriously.

Bloke i know who was at the game had this to say, wondered what you thought.

We were probably playing a slightly weakened team but no-one knows what our strongest team is so who knows.

I can kind of see where he's coming from but I don't think the sacrificing Burnley part is really right if only because if we're shit all season and go down it's going to make it more difficult for Kompany to take that next step. He's also still learning, it was noticeable last year how he learnt from the cock-ups at the start of the season and we became more pragmatic as the season went on.

It's also missing the impact of the owners. It looks very much like they're thinking they can make loads of cash by signing lots of promising youngsters, increasing the value and flogging them on. As a result we have about a dozen nippy wingers in their early twenties and barely any steel in the team.

Fuck knows where we go from here. We don't really have the players to play a different style so it's going to take something innovative to get us going.

Birmingham away on Saturday.

Problem is limited allocation means it sold out quickly so we're in with the home fans.

This Newcastle Arsenal game is needlessly spicy. Very little quality football so far

Enjoying the Copa Libertadores … cracking atmosphere , flying tackles , loads of diving and cheating …. and some great South America fluent football skills - even sort of want underdogs Boca to win … or at least get the equaliser and then it all goes even more bonkers

Was hoping to see some liquid Diniz football but was always going to be a bit of a dog fight playing Boca. Nevin is complaining a lot, but actually enjoying the VAR official staying out of it.
