+liam-h Flat mount is a dud system, at least in my opinion.
You'll need a post mount to flat mount rear adaptor, which actually looks way better than the front version.

Agreed! PM was fine.
Thanks dude, that looks like the thing I've ordered so will see. -

My Hope Tech 4 left lever has developed a little "puff" noise and seems to have a less consistent feel than the right one. Every now and then the lever goes a bit spongy, I bleed it, it feels great for a week or so then it feels less punchy again. It's a year old, I suspect there's air getting in somewhere and probably at the master piston so I've ordered some new seals. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar problem with T4s?

I’ve got a few bits and a lot of questions

- I’ve got a couple of banjo screws that fix into the brake levers but no hose and one battered hose connector
- I’ve got 2 flat mount calipers and absolutely no hose hardware at that end either

What’s the quickest/cheapest/easiest way to get them working…?
I have loads of goodridge hose in my workshop from mtb days - don’t know if that helps -

Is also hoped it might be easy to switch out calipers and hoses for some avid juicy (it’s all sram no?) but from what I gather rival hydroR is not very cross compatible…
-
• #8659
You need compatible hoses with banjo ends and the hardware for the calipers.

Cheers, I'd assumed as much, are there 3rd party hardware suppliers or do I just have to find a SRAM-approved LBS and ask them to order the parts in for me?

Really glad I fully dismantled my Hope lever before discovering the seal kit I ordered has had the wrong seals put in it 🤦🏼♂️

Oh, and if you need a quick way to strip varnish off your nice dining table, I can highly recommend DOT fluid 👍

I found this googling about, but I'd make sure before ordering

Those sram levers use a special tilted banjo connection. As far as I know only original sram hoses work with them:

I've only ever bought 'complete' hydro brakes. My replacement arrived like this. What am I to do?
Do I need to buy all the oils etc?

Olive should already be in the lever, pull out yellow plug, connect the hose and tighten the nut down.

My Shimano Ultegra hydro front disc brake has developed a sort of knocking sound when brakes are applied. Tried taking the pads out and cleaning them and cleaning the rotors etc. Any ideas what cause is?

• #8669
Do you have floating rotors?

12mm for 135mm spacing
X12 for 142mm spacing -

Pads slipping in the caliper? Centrelock rotor moving, needs tightening?
Headset? -
• #8672
thanks! 142mm is most common nowadays right (for disc road)? im losing my mind

Do GRX callipers come with different length bolts for different frame sizes (rear)? Do I need the weird nipple end bolt or can I just grind down an M5 socket cap bolt?
-
• #8674
Could be play in the headset or in the rotor assembly. I guess it's centerlock?
-
• #8675
They don't come with but you can buy, the nipple but is an extra safe, safety extra, but you'll be fine with a bit of threadlock instead.
