He was the sales assistant, manager, mechanic, cleaner and security. Probably on a zero hours contract and minimum wage. Said he was only there because he was at Halfords that closed and needed a job. You can't blame the staff for not giving a fuck for what they get paid and how they get treated. Shoplifting in these places is terrible our local Decathlon is massive and it'll have 3-4 staff covering the whole store and has mostly self scan checkouts so is regularly getting looted and are rarely even challenged as if the staff even do notice it's not their problem. It used to have security guards and 3-4x the current staff levels. I'd have thought the security guards would cover their wages if the were even a mild toe rag deterrent
Good deal on the Diverge mad that it was 5k in the first place. Went in to my local store yesterday to pick up these which were nearly half price with the 20% extra code. It was depressing apart from the muc off stand and the locks and inner tubes everything else had sale prices in. Loads of e-bikes on sale and one poor fucker on his own in the shop having to cover the till, shop floor and do bike servicing on his own getting shit from customers complaining about the credit note only/no refund policy and another moaning because he had to come back in half an hour to get his pads changed because there was no one else to do it immediately.
