  • Maybe if it had happened 10 years ago it might have been good justification for the price difference required to sustain an independent store.

    I think by now the majority of consumers are so conditioned to cut price online retailers that there is little to no space for independents to survive, even if they had greatly reduced competition

  • Bad down our way at the moment everything Cycle shack sell is 20-30% off at Evans or Leisure lakes and the Same for Baker st and Rayments but they're trying to complete as best as they can as they've got quite a few bikes 20% off. If you wanted to buy something standard like a mid level bar and stem or find a small selection of cycling shoes even at rrp could you even locally? The stand alone work shops selling a few accessories all see doing OK though. At this rate it won't be long before you won't be able to buy a bike in a shop
