You know the people saying “all lives matter” are saying that they’re racially offended by “black lives matter”, right?

They’re hearing a call for black liberation and feeling threatened by it.

There is a striking analogy to be made here, it’s just not the one you are making.

It's certainly not as clear cut as the all lives matter bullshit, because although the Israeli state is oppressive and currently committing a genocide, historically and currently, Jews have been oppressed and people have called for the erasure of Israel and some have used at least some of that phrase when doing so.

No it’s not clear cut, the simple point is that everything in any conflict is contentious and contended, and this seeming expectation that the Palestinian liberation movement can formulate a slogan that won’t immediately be perceived in some quarters as antisemitic is 💯 a fantasy. Fuck me, even putting on a keffiyeh can be a contentious act and it’s a fucking scarf.
