It has a small red GMT hand that does one revolution per 24 hours.

It looks nice. Does the bezel click (if so, how many clicks?) or is it a smooth friction bezel?
-
• #74780
that is cool! what is the ref?
-
• #74781
Smooth and frictionless. Unexpected. Was it like that in the original ?

Don't know. That would probably be their justification. Not a big deal, I was just wondering whether they had made the effort to engineer a proper 24/48-click bezel this time or if they just left the click out like they did on the Seiko 5 GMTs.

• #74784
Would have loved a click.

Cripes that chronograph must be like a dive computer on the wrist?
-
• #74786
That GMT is great!
...do you have a new strap lined up?
-
• #74787
Nope...suggestions?
-
• #74788
At least not on my wrist. I love the way it wears.
Pic makes it look bigger 😅

Also the old one doesn't hack, this does. I'm reading the Fratello watch review of the original and they don't mention (so far) if the bezel clicks or not

Heh. Just joshing.
The Navigator looks much bigger than it actually is. 39mm?
Weird.

This is so nice, no fund sadly but would have gone for it
-

Thanks Ed! I am too*, otherwise I would keep it
*I managed to drop my Nomos in the bathroom... it slipped out of my hand, did a front flip and landed face first! Kaputt! Probably quite serious as the stem doesn't even wind it up... so off to Germany it goes for a long overdue service that will probably take forever, cost a fair bit and command a nice chunk of tax in the way back! Quite tempted to get a Casio atm

• #74793
Why are you sending it to Germany? It's still in warranty?
-
• #74794
Bought second hand a few years back and it has one of their lovely in-house movements so it might need their expertise to get it running again. I might also take the chance to get a display caseback fitted so I can see the movement in its full glory 🙃
-
• #74795
Ah got it and yeah a display caseback are always a plus!

Orient have a made some decent efforts at understated watches. My kind of thing.
But then they ruin it again by imposing their large garish logo and oversized crown on all models. -
• #74797
Close enough, it's 38.5mm, I think it's true to size.
I was expecting a bigger watch myself (closer to the diver in the pic) and when I opened it, it seemed sooooo much smaller that I thought it was for much smaller wrists.
Then I put it on and bam...perfect.
And I am loving it more than any other watch I own. -

With the Nomos Club temporarily out, Max Bill 34mm is back. I also have a silly little Braun. Not sure how I ended up with a “exclusively German collection” but … are there any reasonably priced 36 or 34mm tool, or dive, German watches I should looking at? Ideally looking for something with a bracelet and a mechanical movement.

German tool watch is Sinn, but most are 38+ I think.
Really nice! Does the hour hand do a full 360 turn every 24hours?
