We were probably playing a slightly weakened team but no-one knows what our strongest team is so who knows.
I can kind of see where he's coming from but I don't think the sacrificing Burnley part is really right if only because if we're shit all season and go down it's going to make it more difficult for Kompany to take that next step. He's also still learning, it was noticeable last year how he learnt from the cock-ups at the start of the season and we became more pragmatic as the season went on.
It's also missing the impact of the owners. It looks very much like they're thinking they can make loads of cash by signing lots of promising youngsters, increasing the value and flogging them on. As a result we have about a dozen nippy wingers in their early twenties and barely any steel in the team.
Fuck knows where we go from here. We don't really have the players to play a different style so it's going to take something innovative to get us going.
