The rollout of Teams in the NHS only happened at the speed it did because of COVID, and they have been adding functions as they go along so the functionality added since go live is massive but the security was basically the same as a Windows password to unlock your desktop machine.
Getting hundreds of thousands of staff online and working remotely (in basically less than a week?) was definitely the priority.

It's gone forever at my place (corporate). Policy is that anything that is required for audit trail should not be on teams.

Pretty sure it's gone forever. Checked a few different sources and some other departments data retention policies are published - they all say deleted between 15 and 30 days after posting with no reference to them being kept longer. You'd think if they were archived they'd want us to know...

30 days at our (partially)public body.
Then gone forever. Teams isn't for project work, or record keeping. Emails for when you want records.

It will be archived and fully discoverable I suspect (one of the services which the company I work for provides).

I work at a media organisation, we keep everything for 7 years. Teams seems to keep all my history if I use the search function (it’s less happy if I try scroll back beyond a week though)

Forgive me ignorance, but we have the Covid inquiry, we all find out that the Government was a shower of shit during it, what then?
-
• #85360
Well, it's supposed to mean we can learn the lessons from the past so we do better next time.
I'm not sure if any criminal proceedings can be taken on the back of the evidence from the enquiry, or quite how that works.
There are a bunch of different "modules" - we're currently in the second one which is focused on decision making of the government. General consensus being it was even more of a shit show than you could imagine - and we all knew it was a shit show in the first place.
The even sketchier bit for the Tories could be module 5 - presumably some time next year - when we get onto procurement and all those PPE contracts. Easier to prosecute corruption than incompetence.

Any crimes would have to be referred to the appropriate body for investigation and prosecution I would expect.
I don't think the enquiry has many powers other than the ability to compel testimony and request evidence?

Pretty fucked up. But I guess if you're too poor to afford heating you should freeze.

i. Nobody will be surprised.
ii. We pay the cost of the enquiry. -

iii. We vote them in again?

Hah, yes

Obviously, because you can’t trust labour to be financially responsible.
Sadly I still think there are enough idiots who would rather a Liz Truss government with all the associated financial disaster over labour.

There's been a run of stories in the local media about this fuckwit. He's clearly got a few screws loose.
Latest is not paying people and pretending to be a host of made up characters

Always thought he was a silly cunt. Vert strange article.

And in further news, the current top of the evil-and-thick-as-fuck pop charts has just upped her game a bit more:

There are camps of people who are professionally begging, I work by Warren Street and there's been a group there for 10 years.
I suppose that is something. Kind of amazed it wasn't switched on on day 1 (of NHS mail being available on the wider Internet). MFA is hardly new, I was using one of these 25 years ago and for much less sensitive data.
