Yeah those Kavanagh's organic oats are maybe the best value thing you can buy in any UK supermarket.

Not oats, but I tried this rice flake porridge this morning. Needs a bit of work on top of the instructions but I could get to like this stuff. Probably one for diabetics to avoid though - the base rice flakes are nearly 80% carbs!

Is it weird that I just like them cooked in water? Usually nuke them just enough that they’ve still got some decent texture.

Got a new one. Saw something on Reddit where people were using tea to make porridge.
Tried it today with green tea, chia seeds, miso paste and nutritional yeast. Was actually incredibly good.

Personal favorite is a pinch of salt, za’atar, and tomato. Steel cut oats best (the kind you cook for 30 min) but rolled oats are just fine too.

Brewed tea reheated or how are you doing this?

people were using tea to make porridge.
Loads of people think that McDonalds is food, too. 95% of people are idiots.
Now, if you'd said coffee...

1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup full fat milk,
cinnamon stick
vanilla pod
1/4 cup waterGentle boil in pan, stir occasionally.. before serving remove cinnamon stick and vanilla pod, pour condensed milk over, add freshly grated nutmeg on top will keep you nourished all day..

I think I posted Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's tea porridge recipe somewhere in here but here it is again for ease. I like using rooibos and dates.
