Is 13(amps) x 240(v) the maximum that a single appliance can draw, or is it just coincidence that the result is close to 3000?
I think technically it's 230V (voltage) and 13A (current) which is what gives the power (voltage x current) of 3,000.

Round my way voltage is more like 245V so I can get an extra 185W before the fuse in the plug melts. Maybe.
I think the European spec is 230V ±10% so my DNO aren't being slack yet.
