Keen on wheels and tyres if you’d split or someone interested in the rest?
-
• #6
How tall are you.... am tempted but I think that I'll have the same issue & it'll be too big
-

176cm with 80cm inseam. Swept back bars obvs reduced the reach a bit.
Can just standover.
No idea if helpful to gauge size, but here's a mid-tour pics with saddle at my height ... and me having loads of fun riding it.

Sold :)
Had fantasised about a Surly tourer for a while. Built this up, rode <800km on a European tour this summer. It is too big for me, I don’t actually have any need for an expedition bike, and no space to store it.
Cables / tyres / chain / headset bearings / rear hub bearings / bar tape are all <800km use.

Does £600 inc £50 forum donation sound fair?£500
£450
Not splitting - already got too many parts in need of a home.
FRAME - Surly LHT 58cm, 700c wheels
Paintwork in poor condition – chipped and scratched. Have clear coated over worst damage in a functional rust-barrier kind of way. Couple of dings to top tube, tried to show in photos.
HEADSET - FSA Orbit XLII with new bearings
DRIVETRAIN - Sora 3x9
Friction thumbies on Jtek brackets. Used exclusively in friction mode - 9 speed indexed, but I cannot vouch for the indexing. Bit ratty but functional. Will include drop bar end mounts which belong to the bar end shifters. Do also have the Sora trigger shifters if preferred.
Chainset 172.5mm FSA Vero 50/39/30
Cassette CS HG200-9; 11-32
BRAKES
Avid single digit V brakes and levers with nothing-fancy Clarks blocks
WHEELS
Exal ML21 36 spoke rims, minimal wear
Front Shimano dynamo hub DH3N72
Rear Deore FH-M590 - serviced with new cones and ball bearings. Running smoothly but full disclosure I saw a little pitting to the cup when servicing.
Schwalbe Energizer Plus tour 40 tyres front and back, again <800km use
OTHER BITS
Handlebar – On One Geoff, rip off of Jones bar
Rear rack - Tortec expedition aluminium, rated for 35kg
Bottle cages x 2 – basic SJS aluminium ones
Mudguards – black, plastic, off here. Came stock with a Soma bike, I believe.
Saddle / pedals – pictures ones not included. Can include a ratty saddle / flat pedals to get you home if needed.
