  • Some kind german chap on a forum posted the attached autocad design. I got it made by swordfish CNC cutters in shoredtich including the timber for £168.

Painted it with resin that soaks in to waterproof and then painted with gloss.

The design also includes the pieces to do kids seats and room for the seat belts. I've also amended so the sides can be attached with a ratchet strap and removed for wide loads.

  • This is great. I've found somewhere more local than Shoreditch so I'll get in touch with them and cost it up.
Will that dxf file let them get straight to work? I might ask them to make it fit the frame (I don't have to squeeze both kids in anymore I think/hope (unless they both miraculously lose 15kg each)) and then is it just glued or glued and screwed together?

  • yeah, that .DXF is all they need.

It fits together very snuggly and is designed to make the most out of a sheet of ply. You can screw it together, or like i've done just fix the back, front and bottom and then use a ratchet strap to hold the sides.
