Wow, well I was coming here to reflect on my first ever marathon experience at Dublin City marathon yesterday morning but that’s a bit dull in comparison to a 50km trail race in Singapore!
So here’s the top line numbers:
7 weeks of marathon specific training (from a reasonable base of IM70.3 training)
3:21 finish time
3:20 chip time (from crossing start line to crossing finish line)
10 PFH gels consumed (8 regular, 2 caff) - 300g of carbs and 200mg caff
5 PFH electrolyte capsules
Rain - lots
Temperature - perfect
Injuries - none
Blisters - 1
Chafe - under my left armpit
What an incredible day out, crowd support was insane the whole way round despite the weather!
