Great tip, thank you!

Does the TRP F10RS brake pad(for Hylex flat mount) have a Shimano equivalent?

My bike box is pretty beat up. I want to mend the bottom rail bits. Where do I find a suitable part? I don't even know the search term for that.

I want to comment on something user WillMelling wrote in another thread but a couple of pages back. How do I do that without vexxing them?

How do I do that without vexxing them?
If you're that bothered about indulging their ludicrous pomposity, don't comment. I'm mystified that people seem to tolerate it, when the correct solution to @WillMelling's prissy vexation is in their own hands; the computer has an off switch.

I would’ve gone for a full colon there. Thanks for the laugh, in any case.

You mean a semi metallic pad from Shimano? I think the B05S Resin pad is what you're looking for.

That's what I thought after searching the internet (and ordered 25 pair of them).
Alas it is not the case :(B05 on the left and F10 on the right for reference

Yeah, I did some ocular inspection and came to the same conclusion. As it's intended for Shimano road/gravel flat mount, I guess it's what the good people at TRP modelled theirs after. I bought a pair today and will report back! Pictures from the real world of my LBS and hallway respectively.
Thanks for the help!
Edit: with my luck it's bound to be the K04 and not the K05 that I bought that fits...

I might be wrong but I believe the number at the end just refers to the iteration of the compound, rather than the shape of the pad so you should be fine either way.

You might be right (they look quite similar, but I wish Shimano had added some kind of size reference).
Anyway, I'm glad to report that the K05ti-rx fit great. Also the first ti hardware on the bike, so I'm bound to see some marginal gainz

Ahh so anything in the K-series will work in a kinch. Thanks

Can anyone explain why you can ride most of the Ridgeway west of the Thames, but the majority of the eastern section is considered a footpath? Apologies if this is a dim question.

Could someone tell me how to install this ‘Sealed Shift Outer cap with tongue & Rubber shield’ that came with my XT shifter? I’m confused.

Different Local Authorities chose to describe it in different ways either as a footpath or as a bridle way (which almost always allows bikes) when they were making their List of Streets or Definitive Map.
There was no real national policy.Since the NERC 2006 Act of Parliament you can’t grant higher rights -footpath to bridle way or road.
Our Rights of Way laws have developed piecemeal mostly starting with the Enclosure Acts but The Ridgeway predates even this so the real answer to your question is God knows why.

Facing the bike on the drive side.
Release gear cable from, usually rear, derailleur. Remove last piece of outer housing. Thread the rubber shield onto the cable in the direction of the shield in the top half of your image, ensuring you thread it onto the cable past the housing stop on the chainstay. Install sealed cap onto gear cable starting with the pointy end of the cap, as per your pic as well. Install housing, seat housing into cap, seat cap into chainstay stop, push rubber shield onto protruding part of sealed cap. Set up derailleur as normal.
Pro tip: twist the cable ends together, install shield and the cap turning them clockwise v gently onto the cable to prevent fraying and bending a wire.

Screw jt back in all the way, unscrew by 1 turn, release and readjust brake cable?

So it’s not for use with a full-outer set up?
Not sure I follow. This is what I’m looking at.

So it’s not for use with a full-outer set up?
Someone like Tester would know the strictly correct answer to that, but in my experience yes that’s correct, insofar as an exposed cable on the chainstay is better protected with one of those on it. No issue with attempting to install it at the end of the housing though.
Hopefully my industrial draftsmanship makes it a bit more clear. I’m forgetting the terms, but if the “housing stop” circled in yellow were actually a housing stop, you would install as pictured. Since it’s not, you’d install at the end of the housing as pictured in green. Note that you may not be able to use the rubber shield if it gets in the way of the derailleur moving freely, but that extra noodle in the cap will protect the cable a bit more than a normal cap.

Would appreciate confirmation: have I been lucky, or does a modern 11sp Record groupset only shift properly and not make noise with a Campag chain?
Sold a waxed SRAM 1190 chain, told customer it would need a couple kms of final bedding in because it was a short notice order. A month later they’re saying that the shop that installed the chain says it’s making noise and not shifting properly because it’s the wrong chain, and only Campag chains work.
I’ve asked for a video call to witness noise issue, and am waiting for a reply. Do I owe this person a chain or is the other shop misinformed?
