Got any aluminium bolts? One of those with your perforated line trick is probably more likely to work as intended.

I've just had a halfrauds light rip the threaded boss out of my fork on a spirited night ride off road.
I had gone for the same mount option...
Handy when you're on the road with a bar bag but turns out not so durable.

No pictures of the hack/bodgery, but I’ve just put a steerer, star nut and top cap light mount (as seen in this thread https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16952427/) on a carbon fork. It sticks out quite a bit and in a crash would be the first thing to hit the floor. I was worried about this damaging the fork, so it cut 1/2 way through the m5 bolt that holds it in place. It’s plenty strong enough to hold the light, but hopefully it’ll snap in the event of a smash.
