  • Love it, takes me back!

  • Do you lot use a mat under wheelie chairs?

  • Yes, good investment

  • Is there a forum-approved, best bang for buck wheelie chair mat? I'm looking for maximum reduction of rolling resistance and sound deadening characteristics :0)

  • Kolon protector :D

  • Are you still considering it? Mine is a refurb and has been pretty wobbly from day one. I wonder if a new cylinder would fix it. Would also be keen to avoid Amazon.

  • I've not had the issue for a bit so I've put it on the back burner. If it pisses me off again I'll look again but currently it's on a long todo list.

  • I was thinking about one of these. Did you pull the trigger on anything?

  • No, moving in a few weeks so will after that but currently struggling with amazon seems to be full of generic Chinese options that I fear will be in landfill in 18 months or pay more for a branded one but unsure they are any better, which is why I was hoping for some feedback

  • Liking the look of: https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/p/accessories-and-software/monitors/professional/62c1gat6uk

If I got that I'd move my existing 43" 4K monitor to the lounge to replace the existing 30" telly.

  • any good advice for little lamps (potentially that attach to monitor?) that can light my face up a bit on video calls. at the moment I only have ceiling lights and when it is darker outside (less light coming through window) my face is also quite dark on calls. i guess something like a ring light but less bulky

bonus points if USB powered or removable and chargeable etc (to minimise wires)

  • 3 days a week enforcement starts first monday of september

    how is it going?

  • I use an Elgato keylight mini (along with their Master Mount and Sold Mount to hold the light and camera). Wireless, small and rechargeable but a bit pricey.

  • I use these Nanoleaf things.

  • I hate it, we have fixed days (tues, weds, thurs) which means if i have plans on a monday or friday in town i end up doing 4 or 5 days a week.

Any three days id be totally fine with but currently this sucks

  • fixed days

that does suck tbf. but at least they aren't forcing you in on a mon/fri...

  • true, ive just been in the offices 4 or 5 days a week for like.. the last 6 weeks or something due to evening plans, very bored of it

  • We fixed our days at the start of this year for a 3 / 2 hybrid.. 3 days in the office - Mon, Tues & Thursday. Everyone seems happy enough and it definitely better and handier for reviewing projects and asking silly little questions (Architecture office, so always want to run minor design decisions past each other).

  • thanks @Soul @spinnnout - will have a look!

  • In order to get more people back into the office our company has been putting on more incentives, lunches provided on a Monday and Friday if more then 50% of the office are in. Late and earlier finishes if you work more then 4 days in the office.

A bonus of some sort for the most hours worked in the office in a month. Which I would have won hands down each month when I did work in the office, I now work from home 100% of the time.

A colleague who also works 95% from home is miffed as none of the above applies s to home workers and wasn't mentioned when they re did their contract.

  • Not convinced any of that would make a difference to many people. Free lunch is easily swamped by transport costs, working from home has no travel time so is in effect finishing early, etc.

We had free massages here today but no happy endings.

  • Sounds a bit naff.

Our senior leader person keeps saying that 'Innovation happens when we're together', trying to encourage people back to the office to collaborate, no free lunches or anything though.

I've haven't been brave enough to pipe up that our project (all remote workers) is up for an innovation award, despite none of the team going into the office...

  • A lot of them walk or cycle to the Office, Reading/Bristol so it has seen a slight uptake
