Last two years Justin Williams has been banned for crashing or fighting; last year the other guy got banned too, this year only Williams got banned (something about causing a crash then responding to aggression when the other rider AND the spectators called him out)
Unfortunately, Rapha seem to be doubling down where Legion are concerned. I appreciate there's community things Legion are doing but Williams trying to make his bans about "haters" rather than his behaviour without criticism from sponsors (or pressure behind the scenes I assume) is a little tone deaf. You can support the good stuff and address the bad; but I guess whilst they're selling out each jersey run, it's smarter to ignore the bad.

Contracts init. It may look like it's ignored but it isn't...
-
• #37908
Every contract I ever had had a clause that it could be cancelled if I brought the company into disrepute by XYZ. I'm sure the rapha one did too.
-
• #37909
Yeah for sure. It is mostly being ignored. But maybe a little bit not

I was so excited when Legion started getting more mainstream - a Black-owned, successful cycling team that were shrugging off the dusty MAMIL image of bikes and doing some really cool promo and publicity stuff was absolutely amazing to me.
It's such a shame they seem to be slowly wrecking anything they've built up and I don't really feel so proud to call myself a fan any more. Oh well. -

Does no one else think that if Justin Williams was white, then his actions during and after races would just be brushed off as 'heat of the moment', 'that's just part of racing' things?
Let's not forget that cycling in the US is arguably even more white than cycling in the UK.

this. if he was white and european he'd be called flamboyant

like this? Dylan and Fabio!

Rapha's current lineup is split 50/50 between looking like it was designed by an A-Level art student with ADHD or some designs they found on an old hard drive.
They are lost. So very very lost.

Dunno if you set your stall out a certain way you are going to get extra crit-icism when you fall short. Wasn’t that part of the spiral with Strickland? I’ve not read anything about that situation in awhile though.

My post was ripe for 'clearly you dont get enough time after thinking about Valverde'.
Disappointed.

an old (c.2010?) 100% merino jersey. Long sleeve, black, quarter length zip, pockets on the back
Fixed Jersey, great product! Probably best bet is to pick one up on ebay, not sure you'll get the same value (quality of merino to price) from anything else these days. Icebreaker will do something in a similar weight/style and quality of merino, just won't be cycle-focused.

I have a feeling Rapha's problem is it saturated the market. It was really just too successful with its sales of their instant classic products. The number of serious cyclists has its limits so you can only sell a limited amount of gear. There were other brands that followed their success and people also got tired of the repeating designs. The new owners never understood that it is not a fashion brand that has to renew their catalogue every season and cut down on quality.
some do some don´t
