That was two weeks ago
Haven’t ridden since but will start commuting on Monday because this just happened….

Fuck, that‘s terrifying, glad to hear you’re still alive with all bones intact.

It was one of the Welwyn wheelers velodrome bikes
I think I’ll call it Wayne
All worry about getting another weekend road Bike when the insurance pays out

But somebody has made a bit of a mess of the seat, post clamp, and the front wheel doesn’t appear to be sitting central in the fork so that will need some attention

Looks like it...:/
Drill it with a 3mm drillbit at the end to stop the crack from extending. -
• #561
Hell you could even extend the slot to make it look like it's intented

I had the same with my old Gazelle track that had been a roller derby biek. Hamfisted seat up and down mangled out the seat collar.
-
• #563
And finally my commiserations on the LOOK but it could've been far worse, better broken biek then broken bones (typing whilst on the mend for an elbow fracture after a silly stupid fall by myself)

Wow sorry to hear this .

Probably the same story here. Both the stem and seatpost were well greased and scratched - hallmarks of a rental bike

Agree 100% especially after smashing up my hip just 18months ago

Oofff that sounds rough. Did you need a prosthetis? I can imagine it takes a while to get back from that grave an injury..
Good work on the seat post slot!Ninjaedit with the link.
Still looks rough! No pins needed my end fortunately. And the size of those would mean an effective bone-transfer -

Cheers man. Appreciated
-
• #572
Thanks, my legs are still a bit battered but I’ve had a fortnight off and am planning to get back on the bike tomorrow
-

Shorter update. Sorted the seatpost lug and then checked fork alignment… all OK.
Fitted a 28mm Marathon plus and put the front wheel back on- aligned perfectly

All the best with your elbow recovery.
Be a good patient and do all the physio tells you to…
Hope you get full, niggle-free movement back again. -

Love the frame, great colour too
Absolutely gutted, love the bike and was rocking along at a good speed when a driver drove into the side of me I flew high and thank God landed well with no bones broken
