I read the original reply in a Pat Butcher voice. So was after a slightly rougher looking lady of the night, but speed of posting seemed to be the priority.

I saw a rare and pricey 911 Dakar edition parked up in Temple yesterday.
Couldn't work out what the hell it was at first, then clocked the badge on the back. Very odd looking but pretty gnarly. Bright red, rectangular, tow eyes on the front and back were mad Max styles.

I'm considering selling one of my motorbikes to fund a car project, but have a few requirements:
☆ Small to fit in my small garage
☆ 40+ years old (tax/MOT exempt)
☆ RWD
☆ Sub £5k-ishMy current thinking is Hillman Imp. Did consider MGB GT but think it might be a smidge too large. Any other contenders I'm missing?

Good shout. Did briefly consider a Viva as that Coke-bottle shape butters my parsnips slightly more. Viva HC estate would be epic.

Mid engine would annoy me for spannering, although sitting in the boot to work on the engine does have a certain charm to it.

I had a mini way back when and a mate had a Hillman imp. It was forever going wrong and was a mare to work on.

Noted, thanks for the insight.

They are great cars. Coil springs all round, disc as standard, the rear axle is plenty strong and the engine bay is pretty big should you want to upgrade the engine. A friend had one with a Turbo Zetec and it flew.

Yes yes and yes.
Funny, it looks a bit contrived when not in a CH YouTube
promoreview.A bit like when people used to put honey leather wine bottle holders/leather CX shoulder straps to match their Brooks on a brakeless conversions.
