He’s an investor in Factor, if you didn’t know? And if you did, you may be surprised at what he’s said to the media about IPT’s equipment.

I know it’s a minor race, even if it has WT status, but I was pleased to see Milan Vader win the uphill stage today. He was very seriously injured in a crash at the Tour of the Basque Country in 2022.

Fork paint looks like a custom job for user amey.

Covid got me finally so I’m watching the Netflix tour episodes I hadn’t seen yet. I already loved Pinot and now I feel like I didn’t love him enough whilst he was riding. The Vosges looks fantastic for riding

Wouldn't want to be a rider on IPT

The Vosges looks fantastic for riding
It's excellent; well worth a week of anyone's time, either on road or gravel. Most of the time, there's not a lot of riders or even cars outside the main roads.

I started watching that in the US. Some interesting episodes. Love the behind the scenes footage you don't get much of during normal coverage.

+1 for the Vosges, one of the nicest places I've ridden a bike. The cheese is banging too!

Love the Vosges. Long climbs around 10%, great food and drinks and close enough to
(my) home for a midweek of fun. Rains a lot though, so cross your fingers and bring fresh brake pads. Steep descents and many corners make it tricky with full carbon clinchers.

great food and drinks
When I used to go regularly to the Lac Blanc bike park I'd always stop at the Auberge Gazon du Faing on the way home. HUGE portions, good beer.

Yeah a mate melted one of his Roval clinchers going down the Planche de Belle Filles as there were loads of spectators walking down after the stage finish and he was a bit nervous about hitting one of them. I managed to get on the rider train and rode down with Dan Martin who, unbeknownst to me had just finished second to Aru and told me his “legs were absolutely fucked”. They had whistles so spectators were getting out of the way sharpish

Why? They’ll be fine.

Dan Martin rode for quick step?! I have zero recollection of that
-
• #48016
He did two seasons there, 2016 and 2017. He didn't win much, but achieved his best Tour GC finish riding for them, with a 6th in his second season.

6th with a broken back IIRC. I’ll never forget the footage of him jumping off at the end of a stage and being unable to straighten up at all

LBL, no?
-

Not when he was riding for Quick Step.

Was that the same one with a horrible descent through a wet foggy forest where Uran finished in the top five despite his gears getting stuck?
-
• #48021
Yes, the descent of the Mont du Chat. Dan Martin was right behind Richie Porte, who crashed out of the race, when he went down on that descent. He was incredibly fortunate not to get taken out of the race, but I think his back injuries stemmed from that crash.
Uran won the stage btw, despite being stuck in his largest gear.

That confirms my vague recollection then!

Sad to see my fave retire from the road this week, but good he's dealing with the issues and focussing on the track. A bad week for the fans of the aero dutchmen with silly handlebars club.

More to life than cycling. Hope he finds it.
Actually I chuckled. I've never really warmed to Caleb that much. Love it when any Aussie wins but he's not had the best of luck. Maybe next year will be his year :)
