Ah I see the confusion I mean headset shims which go ‘within’ the headset, so between the headset cover and the compression ring, these would be useful though! Thanks

Did think when I was grabbing them ‘I bet these are the wrong thing’, apologies
If they’re useful to you (all my stuff is quill-based nonsense) am happy to pop them in an envelope and post for a forum donation of your choice
cheers

Which bit are you after?
-
• #8
I’m after the bit that goes between the top cover assembly and the compression ring that sits just above the bearing. They’re used on integrated headsets to get the compression ring deep enough. Cane creek manufacture some like shown.

I've got some kicking around somewhere, but your LBS would likely have some and could have them quicker than I could post

Good thinking! I’ll try that, if not then I might hit you up :)

Those usually go under the crown race on the fork.
You shouldn't need the shim on top. The top cover assembly, in the diagram, does that.
Additional-that is a diagram from cane creek

Think I've got some, had this issue on my bmx few times back in the day. Let me know if needed

Two different diagrams nicked if the wiki page, which bit are you wanting to put the shim in.
Is the compression ring there?

Between "dust cover" and compression ring i imagine

That's exactly where I had to put mine, after having the frame repainted the dust cover bottomed out on the frame before everything compressed. One shim between compression ring and dust cover solved it.

Yeah exactly there’s an issue with the old spesh mindset headsets so I’m changing it with a new cane creek forty series headset but other users report having issues with a loose top cap, all reportedly solved by a few shims placed here.

Am asking as 4mm seem the size of a spacer not a shim.
Looking at the shims I have none of them are marked with a thickness. Looking on the condor website I can find the shims I bought from there to show that.

4mm is just an approximation I’ll try get my hands on a set and stack them accordingly
Need some headset shim spacers, the thin ones that go between the compression ring and top cap on an integrated headset, probably need about 4mm? They usually come in between 0.1 and 0.4mm, made by cane creek mainly I think. Need ASAP and posted please, thanks!
