Yeah, they all said "this could last 10 years or it could fail and need extraction tomorrow".
So, it's definitely a gamble, but I've got the cash so I figured leaving it in for as long as possible is the best option. If I was on a budget and they gave me the same options, I would've had it pulled out on the first visit.
Actually, in hindsight, I probably should've just done that anyway, given the pain and drama I've had.
I don’t think you play any role in the state of your root canaled tooth. This boils down to the ability and the judgement of the dentist about your tooth. Some will charge you for not having a clue? The last root canal I had the dentist straight away capped and quote: it’s not going to explode.
