  • I kind of want one, but have way too much in the fridge to fit.

Space saving tip for you though - The mango chutney doesn't need to go in the fridge, nor does the sweet chilli sauce in the background.

  • What is this and where do I get one?

  • Nice - got a link to it?

  • Lol the ikea one is more expensive and worse!

  • Cheers. That's my mum's Xmas gift sorted .

  • Yeah, looks like you'd loose loads of storage space with the Ikea one.

  • Winecave being collected Thursday.

  • Samsung fridge light blew and the replacement is flickering now.

Bad connection? Something on the PCB going awry? Tried cleaning the terminals but it didn't make much/any difference. Don't want another one to blow. ThoughtS?

  • Fair.

But we replaced the bulb and it was ok but only for a couple of weeks. Last night noticed it flickering. Tried cleaning up connections. I think that's the issue - if it was the wrong bulb it'd probably have died already.

  • If the connections are sprung make sure they are making good contact, use pliers or a screwdriver to lever them out a bit.

  • Gave them a scrub and did that.

  • That was a thought but the flickering doesn't coincide to the switch position so I'm less inclined to think it's the switch.

  • It's old and needs to be moved to a corner but it's rammed with shelving so weighs checks notes a metric fuckload.

If nothing else and the compressor fails it will be an insulated cabinet for wine in the garage.

It's a v624b. Need to open and move shelves to find its age but it was £50. Gave the nice lady £60 as the money is for charity even if she had sold all the Montrachet that was previously in it.

  • on the tumble dryer topic, salesperson suggested I need the same brand and a stacking kit from that brand is planning to put it on top of the washing machine. However - have seen one setup where this isn't needed. So just going to look for an 8kg condensing heat pump one when there's next a sale on with similar dimensions to my washing machine

Yeah, that's bollocks, most washers and dryers are pretty much the same dimensions give or take a few cm and there are loads of universal stacking kits out there.

We just bought a Hisense heat pump dryer as we've moved into a furnished apartment which had a washer but no dryer, washer is a different brand and there's no issue. Have to say I really rate the dryer it was 450 euros and it dries as well as the fancy pants miele one we left at our place in the UK. The main difference is that it's a fair bit louder than the miele but quietness was why I bought the miele in the first place, plus that one was a grand so very happy with the Hisense.

  • I had a quick look but couldn't find any discussion of this. Any recommendations for a quiet washing machine? Not looking to break the bank and not bothered about brands/fancy models with all the bells and whistles. There's only 2 of us so doesn't need to take a massive load or anything.

  • Which and good housekeeping review on noise. Expert reviews maybe too.

We went for a Miele one, which scored well here and got it from their outlet for a good price.

  • Good tip, thank you!

  • perhaps get some of these dampening feet or similar - i had them recommended by one of the noise/acoustics folks at work (environmental consultancy), who also mentioned making sure the machine is on a decent solid floor and as level as can be make a difference too.
